Terrific turnout at Taroona morning tea

A group of Taroona women has been participating in the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea for the last 11 years.
Initially the morning tea was held in one of the organiser's houses, but with increasing popularity it has moved to the Taroona Bowls and Community Club.
This year's event was held on Thursday, May 18 with over 80 people attending.
Raffle tickets were keenly sought by the participants, with 11 prizes donated by a number of locals and businesses, including Tassal, Geoff Hope Pharmacy and the Queens Head Hotel.
Participants brought a wonderful range of sweet and savoury treats to share, and with ample leftovers there was something for everyone to take home - at a fee of course, to boost the proceeds all of which go to the Cancer Council for their research.
The total raised this year was $2057, the largest amount to date.
